I’m Emma Pocklington, an experienced storyteller, content strategist and creator specialising in wildlife and conservation journalism. From interpreting complex ecological topics for tailored audiences, to inspiring a love of wildlife in the mass media, I’m passionate about bringing the natural world to life for as many people as possible through print, digital content, podcasts, videos and more. I also specialise in youth and children’s content.
In my day job I am Content Lead (Editor) at Our Media, working across a suite of titles for the RSPB. As well as the flagship quarterly publication The RSPB Magazine, which is mailed out to over 500,000 people, I also edit five regular RSPB newsletters and a range of youth magazines: Wild Times for under 7s, Wild Explorer for 8–12s and Wingbeat for 13+. As well as print publications, I am responsible for creating and curating the RSPB’s digital magazine, which I launched with my team in 2023.
Outside of my full time role I have written for BBC Wildlife Magazine and Countryfile Magazine, am working on a series of children’s picture books and write fiction and non-fiction.
